Lux aeterna luceat eis, Domine

By pascalg
good morning Smile

many thanks for your messages of support for Lucy, proof that the concerns she raised about this new system are founded, and not, as the 'bugs' would have you believe just a resistance to change.
Lucy will reply personally to your messages if you want to contact her via a PM to me.

today : last of the series, many thanks for your comments so far !

a little precision on yesterday's upload :
the shutter speed was 1/40 s. but there is a moment when the censer reaches the end of its swing, then you can capture it, even in low light...
concerning today's upload : as the censer swings back, it releases a cloud of smoke ; this was the moment i wanted to capture...

some good news however : just received new lens (D Summilux 25mm) let's hope it is not a case of pearls before swine Wink

another fine shot pascal. brings back fond (well) memories of when i once acted out this role every sunday. my mother had ambitions that were as wide of mine as the sun & the moon. few could ever imagine. dominus vo biscum et cum spirito tua! may have spelt it wrong. did'nt realise lucy was unwell please pass on my best wishes for a speedy recovery. i saw the stick she was receiving on the forum piece. all very silly!

I reckon this is the best so far of the series, with the smoke acting as a natural filter, and the golden movement blur.
I caught up with developments rather late last night, I've put a note about them on my upload this morning, I'll send a pm when I get back later today.

Your best ever photograph, I suggest, Pascal, though to many it will make even better sense viewed in sequence with the to preceding. It manages to be both powerful and tender, obvious and mysterious.

Congratulations on the appropriateness of your title; I wonder how far its meaning will percolate? The forum is an aspect of the site that I have seldom visited and will now cease to frequent. I have more important things to do, like taking and viewing photographs.

Please give my best to Lucy; we'll keep in touch.

An EXCELLENT action shot, I am just now realizing what it is all about ( something I must look around and watch at a church somewhere??? ) fascinating idea,
I thought it was a reenactment of some sort of Greek Temple activity! Three well done images! Visionary!

As you now I am a huge fan of this series Pascal. This is yet another stellar image in the set and perhaps the finest of the lot, the smoke toying with the ornate carving of the angel is really powerful.

I see more and more in this every time I look at it. The effect of the light at the top, filtering through the blue-greys of the smoke, is (suitably) sublime. Plus the movement of the incense-burner against the stillness of the cloth. Picture of the week.Moira

Same as Dianna, keep rushing recently, and when I get a spare minute, the site works so slooow it makes me want to cry :s
It's a great set of images, and each of them has their strong sides, so I can't decide which one I prefer. But the patterns created by the smoke on this one are just awesome.
