Part of the roof section of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, with this shot showing the central dome which is similar in appearance to that of the Galeries Lafayette in Paris. A most impressive place, even if you don't like shopping. The trick is not to stand with your nose stuck to the window, drooling at the merchandise while self-administering a quick whiff of smelling salts to overcome the impending fainting fit at some (actually, all) of the prices. You need Italian cool if you wish to blend. Only for people-watching and for those with more money than sense, as epitomized by Paul Laffitte: "Un idiot pauvre est un idiot; un idiot riche est un riche."

Like the quote, and what a great perspective on this building, Bob. I like the desaturation as well emphasising the shapes and lines.

Excellent architectural study from an inspired selection of pov.
