RED BELLIED WOODPECKER . . .(male juvenile) on snag

By PattiW
RED BELLIED WOODPECKER . . .juvenile male
First one I have seen in awhile but he came a couple days ago and is still here. The snag he is on is a dead palm tree in our front yard. My hubby has wanted to cut it down but it stays because it is a fave of all the woodpeckers. I have had the Red bellied, Red headed and pileated on this particular tree.
This first shot although the bird is in the shade shows the very red underbelly which one doesn't always get to visualize, thus many people confuse this with the red headed which is a different bird entirely.
Thanks for looking.
God bless,

A fine set, Patti, but I do like the unusual shape and the hole in v5 particularly.

Amazing colours on show against that white of the tree. V5 is my favorite today. Grin
