Tipula Simplex

By Paul_cats
Or for those of you who dont have a scooby...... A common crane fly. Spotted down by the River Don in Aberdeen today. Took a number of this critter as it kindly posed in differnt positions. Not everyones cup of tee but since taking up photography I am fascinated by the intricacy of insects.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

Ive noticed a few crane flies around, surely much too early for them. Usually late August/Sept is the usual time they are out.

Good shot Paul. Smile

excellent detail in insect and leaves, a good contrast and good idea to star this easily neglected bug

A truly fantastic shot Paul, I see you've invited modifications, but I fail to see how anyone could do anything to something that is already perfect in every way!
