What a beautiful shot! What to say? is perfect. Love the monochrome choice. The composition is simply fascinant.

Love it, but crop it into a landscape format to remove the light area at the top right, add a vignette and you'd have quite a different statement.

This rather stunning monochrome image, has the trademark of Alexandra Rodchenko running rife amongst every single point. Stunning. The baby in the bottom, is simply inspirational.

An abstract with a human story. That raised hand is just wonderful.
The light area doesn't bother me, I like the idea of the child crawling innocently from light towards dark. It plays on our instinctive desire to protect children from any hint of risk - when they just want to explore.

Thanks for all the interesting comments. I'm off to google Rodchenko's work.

His mum wasn't too amused when she came around the corner and saw him about to ascend his little Everest alone.

Every time I've gone to this location I've looked to shoot this image with someone sat on the bench (no one ever seems to sit there). Hence placing the little guy in the image and running up the steps to get the image before running back down to supervise his first solo climb.

This is wonderful. I can't compare it with anyone else's work and I certainly don't have words to define its symbolism etc - it's in a class of its own. I wouldn't change anything as the space is required for the total impression.
And Moira says if I don't get in first with my U.A. she will add hers tomorrow!

Best wishes
