Loftus Hall

By paulcr
This is Loftus Hall in Wexford, Ireland, reputadly one of the most haunted houses in Ireland. I ignored the keep out and no trespassing signs on the gates, climbed the wall and ended up being escorted out by the farmer who works the land around the house....

I don't really understand why this has only received one click. Very atmospheric. Like it.

superb atmosphere Paul, well exposed and composed image. Are you sure it was "the farmer" who escorted you out?

Glad you got the shot! Before I read the description, I was going to mention how spooky it looked. And yes, are you shure it was the farmer??

Thanks Gavin, Paul, Denka, alan and Patrick. Patrick, a couple of people asked me that. Unless ghosts are known for their extremely choice language then yes it was the farmer lol. Paul

Thanks to Bruce, Bernie and Tommie. Tommie, its just a mile or two from Hook lighthouse in Wexford heading towards Wexford. Better ask the farmers permission though, he's an angry guy. lol. PAul

Yeah this place is really creepy!!! Apparently a young travelling man many years ago called to this house. While playing a game of poker, he dropped his cards and the young lady of the house bent down to pick them up. While under the table she noticed that the guest had a hoove instead of a foot. He then burst into a fireball and went through the ceiling. The girl ended up insane and to this day the roof at the back of the house hasn't been repaired. However the house has been a hotel and a convent but lots of spooky things happen down there!!! Tara x

Thanks Tara. I met a guy standing outside the gates and asked him if he knew anythng about the house. He said.. "Oh yes! Lots of stories about that place..." Then silence.. I asked "Well...Like what?" He replied "Ooh I could tell you a thing or two about that house.." I waited for a minute, still no stories forthcoming so I climbed the wall myself lol. Paul

Well he wasn't quite that big and my brother is a second degree black belt so we can both look after ourselves but he was extremely aggressive nonetheless. We simply apologised and climbed back over the wall. He had the gate open but wouldn't let us use the gate, made us climb the wall again. On the ghost, the third window from the right on the top floor did have a single light bulb lit.... Thanks Greg.
