The River Swale begins

By Seamuscamp
The road (wall on left) is the B6270, midway between the turnoffs to Tan Hill Inn and Ravenseat. Ahead is Whitsundale Beck, and Great Sleddale Beck comes in from the left. They meet to form the River Swale. It is hard to find a view in Swaledale that doesn't have at least the kernal of a beautiful photo. Beyond this point the environment is increasingly wild and the road tortuous.
