Brilliant pic Paul, I love the sky, I think it is excellently exposed and also the neutral blue colour compliments the warm ground colour. I agree with PeteBaily about the boulder cutting the horizon (although I didn't spot it until I read the comment). You said in your last upload of this image that you felt the boulder dominated the image, I would say that if it didn't dominate that the pic would be boring. I think the boulder is a perfect f/g subject and well exposed to bring out the detail.

i did wrestle for quite a long time composing the shot and found myself going back to the same spot over and over. It 'felt' right i did n't realise till i was inspecting the image on the light box how the deep curved groove within the rock flowed into the curve of the illuminated shoulder of whernside this is probably why it felt right.
