The afternoon was dull in more ways than one. Dull sky, the last day of the half term holiday and the prospect of an all London Cup Final didn't exactly inspire me so I escaped with my bike and camera. I'd spotted the possibility of my own lone tree a few days before and went to investigate. I thought there was a path leading across the fields to it, but the path turned out to be a drainage ditch so I had to walk. I knew I wanted a low eye level so I climbed down in the ditch with 2 legs of the tripod in the water, trying not to get any more legs in it especially mine. I'd imagined the final picture to be landscape format but was intrigued with the camera held portrait, and being able to still see the tree with the lens almost pointing up to the sky! I tried the polarising filter to get more cloud detail but the light was fading. I'd like to get more dramatic clouds somehow. I'm sure I'll go back and try again.
