Contrasts at Kirby Hall

I posted this in colour previously.
My intention with this picture was to try and provide emphasis to the craggy detail of the beautiful Kirby Hall. There was little going on with the sky on the day, so this was one of the few that offered something interesting to do with the sky.
I think maybe some of the shadows towards the bottom of the picture are a bit much and maybe a better crop would help.

I see what you mean. I didn't originally remove the part encroaching on the left side because I wanted to retain the feeling that it was actually taken in quite a confined area. But seeing your updated version I think there probably is an improvement.

Great shot - really works with that dramatic sky, after seeing Focus_man mod I agree that the lightening of those areas works well. mind you I think it takes some of the moodiness out of the image. Great artistic view - like it.

I think this works very well as it is, with the converging verticals and dark framing by the shadowed areas. The black and white conversion is good and contrasty and the sky has enough interest to complete the photo.
