Feel the Burn

By pennyspike
I had a special night out on Friday with a group of night photographers who gave me enough instruction to end up with this photograph.
Such fun, midnight is definitely the witching hour.
Camera on remote, I'm doing the twirling, lightpainting done "under instruction"
If you look closely you will see the star trails as the clouds disappeared just before I took this one.
I wouldn't be here without epz and the support network. I had a fantastic night/light-painting experience I want to share with the rest of "epzland"
I learnt so much that night.

An amazing and very original image, how did you achieve them colours?? - Did you put coloured filters over a torch/flash? However you achieved it it has certainly been effective.

I really enjoy this, love the colours of the structure and the light pouring around it almost like fireworks. Very well produced, I'd love to have a go at this sometime!

Thanks for the comments, I enjoyed the experience & urge anyone to give it a try.
The camera was very new , hardly out of the box, so I was getting to know it by trial & error & wished I'd had a chance to get familiar with all the controls before taking it out at night.

Details, for those of you who've expressed an interest:-
ISO 100 Av 3.5 T Exp time17 mins.
"Fireworks" = burning wire wool twirled
Lightpainting,:-torch with coloured gels red & blue lit separately from both sides the violet violet effect is where they mixed.
The bandstand was on a very wet, green, hard standing , hence the reflections.
It's a steep learning curve & I had good teachers.Smile

you done this all on your own....after a bit of info giving and so spun the fire and lightpainted it yourself with the gels

and I forgot to say that light with no gel to the Pompey emblem at the top worked a treat too ..looks super golden !

how did the surreall light stencil one come out ? Wink

Love the violet colour Penny. The border really highlights the colours too. Nice job!
