My first Kingfisher.

By pentaxpatty
Hello to everyone, thank you all so much for your votes and kind comments.

Well very nervous uploading this Kingfisher, the first one I have ever managed to photograph. The reason is that there are so many great bird photographers here. The Kingfisher has been on the local pond for a while now and there is a female too, very hard to get a decent photo of her,.

Have a good day what ever you get up to. swimming for me, and it is pouring down too.

Love and light Patty xxSmileSmile

That's our club bird expert (George) envying you your first sighting of a kingfisher!
The 300mm lens is so hard to get focus spot on and sharp even with a tripod.
Even with 800 ISO you needed a faster shutter speed - but you're one up on me too -
never captured a lovely kingfisher.

Envious - I've yet to see a live one! So well done for actually getting a good picture of him. Wet here too!!
Well done Patty, what a great shot you must be feeling really happy. I am envious as I have never managed to photograph one successfully, all I managed was a speck of blue in a distant tree. Sad

Well done Patty, all I've ever seen is a Blue Dart going from one side of the river to the other, I've never seen one stationary let alone taken a picture Sad
Hope you enjoyed your swim even though you probably had one even before you got there Smile
