Hi Nathan, thank you for the Compliment, it was very kind, I did try and get an accolade for you but EPZ would not accept my suggestion sorry. Flowers as you say are not as easy but it's good to try new things. I have always found on this type of image to make it a little darker , maybe F/11 with the same speed would have given a little more detail. But a dam good effort and don't give this up please. Regards John

Hope you feel well Nathan.
This one is not terribly sharp. Assuming you were say 10 feet away, f/5.6 would give you 0.17 feet in front, and the same behind your chosen focus point. So a smaller aperture, and underexposing slightly might have given you a better result. I downloaded it a tried sharpening with little luck, so the original may need to be sharper. The flower sort of "glows", which will affect sharpness. This is not uncommon with white and yellow flowers, so lots of practice to keep you busy!

This is beautiful its nice to hear someone say its not easy photographing flowers because at my club quite a few people think that its dead easy and my work is often overlooked as being too subtle for outside competition even though I have a scoring range from17?20 to 20/20 recently Keep up the good work - Elizabeth xx
