The top of a once ornamental lamp is as good a description for me even if it is not right. Certainly an image of contrasts.

An oil lamp with the facets to bounce the light around a room or garden.

My first thought was the Scottish buggeredifiknow.

The product of a nocturnal incident between a German military helmet of the early 1900s and an industrial salt cellar, used until 2003 for manual grit dispensing on the roads of the Borough of Leith. Shown inverted.
What else?
So glad you're not offering cigars as a prize because I gave them up in 1977.
Lovely pic, Mick, a real teaserBlush

My guess is the top of an old, and somewhat questionably stylish, lamp.
