He was in a wire mesh cage.
There was wire between me and the bird but (amazingly) I managed to zone out the wire with dof.
Probably could never do it again!

I'm hanging onto the nuts for now, Colleen.
Got a mean look in his eye!!! But a colourful picture - and well done getting rid of the wire.
What a handsome fellow- the bird that is!!!

A powerful looking beak and large bird - pity to be cooped up in a cage.
Well done (trying not to say capturing!) photographing him through the bars.

I used to have a macaw, but he started eating the house and the furniture, so I had to give him away. Not sure if he went on to eat anyone else's house, but he had a murderous bite on him! He was never caged, he just didn't think he could fly so he didn't bother!

Did you give it any seed, Alex?

Nice colours Peter but would never have one. Too vicious a beak. Cathy
