Is it macro?
I took it from about 6 feet away.
I have a lot to learn.

A beauty, Peter, I hope this winter will be as good for butterflies as last year, I was spotting them right through December and January Smile Carol

Lovely shot Peter. Seems a shame that they will be gone soon but something to look forward to next year. Cathy

A very good image of this Small Tortoiseshell butterfly Peter.
I'm not sure how a macro is defined but this is superb from six feet away.
Maybe that camera is better than you think!
The equipement certainly helps but the photographer plays a BIG part.
You have such beautiful butterflies over there Peter, I am envious... I am sure we do also, I just don't ever see any.. GrinGrin

I expect they've all been eaten by something else, Lynnie.

24 votes on this image!!!! Twice as many as I might get normally.
I'll have to look at the picture again to see what I've missed.
