The Baptistry Window at Coventry Cathedral

By DicksPics
These images were taken on a boys' day out to Coventry a few weeks ago.
This baptistery window at Coventry Cathedral was designed by John Piper and created by Patrick Reyntiens - it has a total of 195 panels.
At the foot of the stained glass window is the baptismal font, shown in V2; it is made of a huge rock brought over from the Holy Land not far from Bethlehem.
V3, showing the whole window, was a tricky one to photograph as there was so much light shining through the central area.
Many thanks for all views, votes and comments on my ' Sunset at Correlejo' upload!

That looks amazing Richard - not sure myself how to tackle stained glass windows.

The question is re V1 were you standing, sitting or on your head Grin. This is a very special collection, the colours are enticing, the geometrics created by the shape of the windows are very attractive, enhancing the composition. I love all three of them.

The design of the window so reminds me of a popular quilt design used by quilters here-- These are marvelous images of this window!

The whole window is most impressive but there is no doubt in my mind that the more interesting images arise from concentrating on smaller more colourful sections as you have shown in V 1: and I do like V 2 with the font taken against an even smaller section. Well thought out and considered images, beautifully captured, Richard, and any would be proud to have them ion his/her portfolio.

Sorry your comment on my Flotilla image has been lost: had problems with the site last evening, and in the course of trying to sort it out, I lost yesterday's image and all the comments posted, including your own.

Each one is worthy of praise Richard. I think the full view of V3 sets the tone for looking at the other two and you've done a great job with the composition and light.
