    I absolutely love this.

  • Springer

A fantastic action shot of this breed. Springers are notoriously attarcted to mud and water and you have captured the verty essence of the dog here. Sharp where it needs to be and the lighting is excellent.

I love the idea and it certainly adds more interest to the photo. Initially at thumbnail size it looked like a reflection in water which may have been your intention but I don't think the effect is very realistic once the picture is viewed larger. Great try though.

  • Red Squirrel

Fabulous capture. Nice that she is coming towards you and not at a distance looking nervous like most squirrel photos. I like the composition and the out of focus background is complementary and not distracting. Nice sharp detail in the face and great catch lights in the eyes. Wonderful.

  • Autumn Polar

Quote:Wow so different, how did you do that? Jenny

Do you have PS or Elements 9+. If you look in Filters, then Distort and it is called Polar... I love it... you can get some really great effects.

  • Woodland 'Mini' mushrooms

Thankyou everyone... I will get the hang of it. The moss was too soft for my liking at the front, next time I will start the focusing there then work back. I am learning all the time. Pamela - I like the crop you did - thankyou. Willie - the middle is soft but I will get better...lol.

Wow... this is a stunning capture. Everything about it impresses me. The colours are the first thing that strikes me, they are so beautiful and the bird although similarly coloured really stands out. The bird is very strong, sharp in all the right places, the composition is gorgeous. It ticks all the boxes. You are clearly a very very competant photographer... well done. Jude

  • Black tailed Skimmer - I think!

Great capture, nice to see one in motion rather than totally static or even dead..lol. The point of focus seems to be on the body and the rear wing which has left the yes a little soft. The background is beautifully out of focus and not distracting form the subject and I love the diagonals of the stalk.

Fantastic composition. The focus is a bit soft but I appreciate how difficult this is to achieve. The colours are simply gorgeous..

  • Very Deflated

This photo demands attention. It makes me look and look and look at it trying to decide what it is saying. Your title 'Deflated' doesn't seem to sum up the story, because the baloons are edeflated but it looks so much more than that with the woman and the mask. Is seems more like it a fear of aging... I have no idea but I do think the photo is a wonderfully strong image with fantastic contrasting colours. It really works for me. Jude

Lovely. This is so feminine and gentle. Seductive with it's coloration She looks comfortable and natural as well which is always difficult to achieve. Jude

  • Two Of A Kind !

A lovely capture. This is one f those shots often seen on Christmas cards but with the added bonus of two robins. It is beautifully sharp where it should be, the background is beautifully and sypathetically diffused. Well done. Jude

Stunning... I love it, technically wonderful, compositionally brilliant and full of atmosphere. Well done.

  • The Big Blue

Quote:Pity that the surfer is not pin sharp but it is a great composition

Ha ha Jaktis, he was sharper than this, but not quite pin sharp so I have blurred the image now on purpose and given the whole thing a painted look.

  • facing away

Very nice. I like the slightly grainy look as it seems more suiting to a male. Composition is good although maybe slightly too dark. I will watch for more.

Ha ha... I left rugged rascals at home that weekend... ;o)

Street photography can be really fun and interesting. Like a small snapshot into other peoples lives. Well done for seeing this and capturing it.

  • Iona 2

I have never been to Iona, I really must. This is a competent record shot of this monument. The light has been handled well and the colours of the heather and ground coverage is lovely. There seems to be a line horozontally across the picture about 1/3 up. Is it a wire? If so I would be tempted to clone it out. I think the monuments positioning slightly to the right, facing out that way, works. Jude

  • Underneath The Arches

This is a gorgeous shot. The colours are very complementary and the composition is fabulous. The models red hair is really in tune with the surrounding brick work and the 'tunnel leads your eye through the photo - it's a shame it ends at a brick wall and didn't go further or turn. The ivy gives the photo a natural border. I am not sure what the 'story' is or 'message' is. The model is not making eye contact, and her position does not look terribly comfortable, I certainly couldn't stay in this position for long or rest in this position, so I am curious what the mood is. A lovely image non the less - Jude

  • Gallery

A creative image well seen. Th whites are very bright and the bar down the middle splits the picture in two. The image certainly tells a story. It makes me wonder what she is thinking or is she waiting for someone... it looks like a terminal of some kind. She almost looks anxious. The reflections really add to the picture. Jude

  • The Lost Valley

You were very lucky to have the opportunity to photograph such an incredible sight. This low lying mist / cloud is stunning. The mist and path create wonderful lead through lines. I may have cropped a slither off the sky as the amount isn't adding anything. Colours are gentle and muted. I would be tempted to touch the contrast but only very slightly to maintain that ethereal look but pull out some land detail. A lovely shot.

  • Willow Warbler

A stunning photo. Perfectly lit. Lots of sharp detail, fabulous catch light in eye. Background beautifully and sympathetically out of focus. I love the added interest of the moss on the branch. This deserves my user award - well done. Jude

  • Dry Valleys, Antarctica

I like this alot. You have all the right elements. Foreground interest, people to give it scale, it takes my eye through the photo, composition and lighting are good. Well done. Jude

  • West Coast Cornwall

Thankyou everyone and a big thankyou for your user award Dave. It was a sunshine and showers (actually torrential) kind of day... hence skies, I wanted to capture the power and drama of the Cornish coast line.

I absolutely love it and would actually be struggling to suggest ways of improving it...( and I am never lost for a few words..lol) well done..

  • Fruit Bat

I really struggled to get a good shot. The bats were in a darkened room with very little light of any kind. I wouldn't;t drip the speed too low as they were moving around alot and I was unable to use a tripod. I was conscious of the grain with a high iso... this was certainly a challenge that day.
