Rusty Chain

By Perry_95
I took this shot in macro mode, and made good use of DOF. I made the area around the rusted chain link go blank and white. Constructive criticism welcomed. Perry.

I really like this shot - you've managed to emphasis the rusted link brilliantly. Your focus is spot on, well done!

I like the DoF and the great use of selective colour Smile

Excellent selection of subject, use of shallow dof and selective colouring technique. I also like the faint shadows in the background.
I wonder if you have tried a portrait-format shot, or perhaps a square crop?

Cracking shot !.....nice simple image, but with a little imagination it's turned into a superb it !

If it were mine, I'd be inclined to crop 15% off the LH side, & about 20% off the RH side to create an upright image, so that the subject is more prominent in the frame, & therefore
has more impact ........I would also add a touch more contrast, particularly to the mono. area to add a bit more 'zing'.......then do an A2 print, & hang it on my lounge wall !!!!!!!!!!
