I would of cropped in even closer ,leaving hat,shoulders and hands in--and the associated cloud of smoke.
However if the shot---was meant to capture the flame coming out of the muzzel,it could`t of been done better

I know what you mean, I visited one of these at Rufford a few years ago using slide film. You can only imagine how full the bin was Smile

I think a tighter crop to the left side as Kim mentioned would work well - great capture of the fire and smoke, not easy I know, tried this at a Civil War re-enactment at Leeds Castle - to no avail - well taken Pete!

i was wondering how hard it was to time the shot so you would capture the flames but then i read you description & it seems its a 100-1 shot hey well done like the colours in the uniform & of course the flaming gun barrel.

Great timing! reminds me of a time working as a film extra between King's Lynn and Ely on a film called Revolution that flopped lol.
