It's a car

By Pete
This photo has been put up so that hopefully someone can identify what type of race it is and point me in the direction of a web site that gives an events list so I can go and shoot some more. See this forum thread

Rallycross looks a bit too posh. This was taken in a wood near Bourne, Lincs.

"33 Chris Firth/David Everard Ford Escort"

I've found a list of classic car clubs here

http://www.slinfold-classics.co.uk/

Although there's a lot of dead links, you'll have to search through and look at the events each club is holding.

If you can get up to New Brighton (yes, where the lighthouse is) on 23/24 June they are having a tarmac rally...

nice shot though Pete, a bit away from your usual style, but I like it. The tyres make a good frame along the bottom, the dust cloud conveys a good sense of speed and motion, lovely.

p.s. thanks for the Highly Commended, appreciate it.

hi, this is a form of rallycross, looks very much like the old racing we used to see on the TV from Lydden hill nr Dover, infact they still race rally cross there, they dont charge the earth to get in either.

The HRCR website might be of interest if you fancy some historic motorsport Smile My other half competes with his brother in the road-rallying championship. You'll also find info on stage rallying there. The road-rallying events aren't really advertised much and it's not really a spectator sport but sometimes you can get access to watch the 'special tests' which can be fun. Not managed to get to any of the stage rallies yet.
