I spent the weekend visiting two reenactments - Sunday was over at the Rauceby War Weekend and today at the Sealed Knot English Civil War re-enactment at Newstead Abbey. I often play a game when I shoot at reenactments to see if I can capture the decisive moment with a single frame. I usually try to get the explosive flame coming out of the front of the gun barrel, but I spotted spent cartridges popping out of this guy's gun and two shots later I'd caught the cartridge mid flight.

Quite pleased with that. Of course those with 5fps motor drives can just rattle off a few frames and get this kind of result time after time. But I like the thought that these guys aren't wandering around with machine guns and had to hit the target with a single shot, so no reason why I shouldn't join them.

Here's one with the flame, but I was a millisecond too late, and my framing was too tight to the right.
