I had a surprise visit from an old friend, Katie, today who brought along her new baby, Sophia. I wasn't prepared for taking photos and had to revert to an old Pentax K10 which is a bit noisy at higher ISO settings.

This is window lit at ISO800. There was a lot of noise so I decided to go 'Scotch 400 film style' on it. Grain added in Lightroom. I like this one because of the way she appears to be pointing!

Doesn't matter about the noise....a good shot is a good shot. Never used to bother with it in the good old film fact, it was positively enhanced with fast film as you will no doubt know! And this is a good shot, so the grain, even enhanced, doesn't detract at all....a lovely image, really lovely

The noise is not an issue when the little one poses like this....
Always carry a camera.

I take it you were never in the Scouts?
