I have been there a few times since I was 14. I used to approach it from Yellow Slacks. It Is an eerie place, I think they did something on most haunted about the wreckage. Are you local to Glossop Pete?
Nice treatment to it.

Ghostly effect, bleached by time. Pete, I know a little of the history here, I find this incredibly moving.

Been there myself and can corfirm it is eerie. The feeling I got there was 'should I be taking photographs or not'. Well composed and captured.

Cross processing works a treat here, like an old transparency. I can see the pages of a discarded Life magazine flipping over in the breeze.

A very suitable subject for the treatment which really enhances the spookiness of the place.

I agree with Richsr. The bleached look is perfect for this shot.

I've not been to Higher Shelf, but did go up to see the memorial to the Canadian crew of the Wellington bomber which crashed on Carreg Goch in the Brecon Beacons. It was a very foggy day and it took some time to find it. Very eerie there as well. I guess you are thinking of what happened all those years ago.

Couldn't give my UA until today (now if we could give one a day... ), but I keep coming back here. I'm seeing bleached bones left unburied for over sixty years, like ghosts clinging to the earth, a story left in mid-sentence. To be honest I've resisted viewing the video, the image speaks for itself.
