Its a lovely shot Pete. I see you have quite a few recently.

The timing is cute, with the tongue stuck out.

Theres a lot of leeway you have with this. The basic exposure is good, though the blanket in front is very bright in parts. Lovely little catchlight in the eye, that makes a big difference.

Its wide, so lots of room to crop, and I would suggest you crop space from the right, and add a bit to the top for balance. A square crop can work too.

Most of the effort in the mods has been spent, apart from the crop, in softening the shot. A babys skin is of course soft, so what I mean is a slightly dreamy appearnace that can be attractive. I adjusted brightness fort, increasing exposure for the baby and the background, but not the blanket. A diffuse glow filter is the main tool for the softer effect. The effect is never applied t the eyes btw.

So a seelction for you, one rotated to have the baby less upright; and a mono.

You have the basics fine. Cropping makes it better, even as it is. The rest is fairy dust.

regards

Thanks Banehawi

I love the first 2 mods. The crop and movement makes the photo so much better - the photo seems to have more impact now that there is space for her to look into.

Great mods - thanks Smile
