Amazing details! You've caught it brilliantly and I like the colours of its surroundings.

I haven't heard a wasp called a Jasper for a long time. I was curious as to why, so I 'Googled'. This is what I found:- "Common wasps are colloquially called "jaspers" in some English regions (Dorset, Lincolnshire, and elsewhere in the English Midlands); whether this comes from the Latin vespa or from the abdomen resembling the striped mineral jasper, is not clear."
