Subhojit - thanks. The idea originally was to put a light border around so that it would look like a forgotten old print in an album - the black just adds a bit (well, a lot really) of shadow...

pete i didn't say the outline of the image.........i said about the scene in the picture. that was parfect frame except the white & black border.........

sorry - I misunderstood. It's a lingering memory of putting paintings into exhibitions and being complimented on the frame (people liked the gold-finished ones)!

spooky... couldnt you capture the whole tree instead of cropping the top part?

thank-you for comment. The idea of not showing the whole tree is to increase the impression of claustrophobia - it would feel much more open with the whole tree shown.
