Green Woodpecker - showing tail!

Taken just after the previous upload. Doesn't do justice to the head plumage but at least it shows the tailWink

Note: these shots were taken using '2x digital zoom' - not terribly successful so they are the full frame, the odd framing is due to the fact that when he arrived I was playing with the camera to see how good the zoom was and didn't have any time to do any modifications to settings etc. Well, that's my excuse, but I'm not sure I'll use the digital zoom again, although it was nice to be able more clearly.

Thanks Dave. I've managed a few times, but not usually so clearly - once the trees are in leaf they are very difficult to spot, but as this tree is next-door to us and they often annouce their presence with their 'manic laugh' I have it a bit easier.
When he sings it means it's going to rain, apparently, something to do with the sound being similar to the French for rain - I can't remember the exact quote.
