LIGHTENING STRIKES

By dmhuynh72
I've been waiting for several years to get a lightening strikes shot at this lighthouse. This was taken a couple of months ago, and on this particularly morning I rode my motorbike out to the sea at 3am while it rained heavily with lightening strikes. It was still dark when I reached this location and image was exposed for several minutes. Somehow the fishing boats managed to stay perfectly still. I like the inclusion of fishing boats to give a sense of scale to the scene.
Have a great weekend.
Yung

Hi Yung,
Worth waiting for. I like the sky but feel as if it could be cropped down to just above the lightning.
This would give more emphasis on the strike .

Fabulous. And I was so relieved to read your narrative and find that the lightning was for real...
The exposure is interesting because this does have a sense of contrast - time drifting by slowly, then the sudden burst of energy.

Wow, amazing shot Yung. There isn't an 'e' in lightning. 'Lightening the load' has an 'e' in it. SmileSmileSmileSmile
