In no art form should you ever harm the subject. Sorry, not impressed.

    Hi,

I appreciate that this is your first attempt but it doesn't quite hit any notes for me. It's not sharp enough and there is too much going on for the eye to focus on any particular point. The candle is too bright, from a personal note I would of used a little faster shutter speed also making the shot sharper.

One possitive you clearly understand the rule of thirds.

Keep trying though, practise makes perfect!

It is an excellent spot, it looks as though there could possibly be some buildings or something below not allowing to get any lower because I find theres too much empty space above the cloud. Excellent cloud formation though.

  • ROBIN by lagomera

Agree about the twigs infront of the bird, if you just moved around to the left a fraction you could of got the clear shot, Robins are normally quite happy for you to move about as long as you don't get too close. Also if you moved round and got the Robin then looking into the camera could of been an excellent shot.. It's very sharp and the exposure is spot on so well done there.

I'm afraid this image doesn't work for me! The flare is distracting, too many shadows with no detail and the direct light has not helped the shot at all. It's good that you spotted the subject which is something that would grab my eye but next time you come across something like this. If you are ever unsure take photos from every angle so you get an idea of how the light effects it.

Agree with Paul, plus I'd of kept the front of the boat in focus and calmed down the saturation in the greens.

Technically good. Tiny bit over exposed.

Shame you couldn't get directly under because I think that would of made for a great shot.

Your photography is clearly coming on.

Your work is absolutely outstanding, as a clear pro what would you reccomend for me as a beginner? I was coinsidering a home course so I can still work full time and earn money. I have made a subscription to a good magazine and stuff and it certainly helps but I feel I still don't TRUELY know the basics behind shutters speeds etc and f numbers etc....
