Lake St Clair (Revisited)

By PeterBee
Iíve been out of circulation (as far as this site is concerned) for the past few weeks because Iíve been focusing on putting together a panel for my Licentiateship of the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS) and then catching up with all the things that got put on one side whilst I was concentrating on that. Iím pleased to say that my LRPS application was successful, so it was worth the effort.

Incidentally, my LRPS panel can be seen on my web site. All the images have appeared on here Ė some have done well, others less so!

A version of this image was first posted last June Ė since then Iíve had several attempts to re-work it. This version was made by processing 7 different exposures from the original RAW file and then creating an HDR image in Photomatix Pro, followed by a little more work in CS4.

Iíd be interested in feedback on whether the colour or mono versions is preferred

Thanks for looking. Worth viewing large if you can

Great stones, super seen, i like the mist on the water, just makes this a silent shot. beautiful tone-in-tone with natural colours

For me it has to be the colour version. Like that gentle hint of colour at the water's edge and on the boulders. Lovely misty feel and yet just enough light to touch the water and stones. Congrats on your special achievement too. you must be so delighted.

Thanks, Ann - I got a real buzz out of the LRPS when I achieved it almost 3 weeks ago. Strangely, though, after 4 or 5 months concerted effort there's a bit of anti climax about it now! I need some new projects, I think.

Congratulations! I prefer the black and white but there's not a lot to choose between the two versions.
