This is a great portrait. Where did you find him? The setting looks natural, as does the lighting and pose and dress - I imagine he was sitting under a railway bridge somewhere when you just happen to come by toting your camera! However you got him, you got him good.

This is a wonderful portrait & a special character profile. The lighting & portrait compo are perfect & if I have to suggest humble modifications, here are the following points I would observe:
1. the background "clean-up" can be improved especially the "ghosting" at the edge of the facial profile, so special attention & care need to be done for a cleaner edge profile;
2. the focus on the eye is a little soft as compared to the rest of the head & attire fabric;
3. the lighting on the eye zone & lower chin beard seems a little bright, so downlighting a little to recover precious details;
4. add a little more dynamic range so that the ear & hair are more visible & less contrasty;
5. a monochrome version just for a different portrait mood just to concentrate & enhance on the side profile.
Hope you like the simple mods. Again you did capture a wonderful subject & modification on an almost perfect portrait is difficult.
Best wishes. eeSmile

I do like this very much Peter. The composition is strong and the lighting is lovely. I find the modifications fascinating, especially sawsengee's guidance notes. If I could award this I would but I'll put it in 'favourites' so that I can go back to it - wouldn't want to lose touch with this one! SmileSmileSmile
