Excellent light and detail on this, Pete. Slight shame about the shadow on the left but still a beauty. I really like that area too.
cheers, Paul

Pete this is another fine shot and having shot a few myself last week I know how difficult they are, yours are superb and are fine examples of what you really like and want to do but having purchased a couple of books last week on the Scottish mountains scenes I think more panorama is needed or shots sweeping away at an angle I realise the constraints of the site may not be suitable for large panoramic shots but to archive some for yourself would indeed be a asset and for all I know you are perhaps doing this.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

Hi Kin - I hear what you're saying, and I appreciate your honesty. I'm still groping around and trying things out to see what sticks, and EPZ is useful for teasing out what works and what doesn't. I understand what you mean about the panoramics. Now that you have pointed it out, there isn't much sense of space or depth to this image like in, for example, Colin Prior's superb panoramics. It can be difficult to do sometimes in places like the Lake District, because unlike the highlands, there isn't the same sense of scale and grandeur in the scenery. Sometimes I wish I lived a little closer to the Highlands so I can sample more of that scenery.

Or maybe I should try harder with my photography where I am! Wink

All the best,

Pete

you just don't get the scale from a photo do you? So darn big in real life!

This is a gem though, lovley sky, bits of snow there still - great texture in the rock

Great work Pete

This is really great composition, thanks to the foreground it gives some depths to it, and also the shadow on the left side gives it a little extra.

Wouldn,t look out of place in one of Wainwright's books, Pete. Can see every fold and wrinkle in the large version. Pity about the shadow but doesn't spoil the shot for me. Nicely framed too.

Another great shot and I love the panoramic format, too! The border works well and the intricate structure of the rocks really jumps out at you in the large version. I also find the shadow on the left a tad distracting though...

Good location, stitching, colours and presentation. Cant help feeling there is something missing though - perhaps some more foreground or people for scale..oh I dont know. Perhaps I just preffered the previous one and that is all there is too it Smile
