Lakeland Glow

By pfheyes
Well, I couldn't call it Alpenglow could I? ;o)

I've missed many a photo opportunity because I hadn't had any longer lenses. I finally managed to get my mitts on a 70-210 telephoto zoom, and it helped me get this image. This is a shot of Dollywagon Pike and Nethermost Pike catching the first rays of sun. As usual, I was in the wrong place, but the telephoto allowed me capture something in this light.

Thanks for looking,

One of the many benefits of being up in the hills at dawn Pete, can't beat it. Can't imagine what time you left home though!

Superb light and early morning feel to this one, well done.

Thanks very much everyone.

Hi Gwyn - let's say it was stupid o'clock lol

Hi Mari - to be honest, when I looked at the RAW original, it didn't leap out at me. A bit of work on levels helped to bring out what I saw when I clicked the shutter. I'm now really pleased with it.

Thanks Again,

Ive often thought i would like a shot like this,

But you would never get me climbing up mountains to get it,

So i will just sit back and enjoy looking at this one.

If this is what you get when in the wrong place then I want to see what you produce when in the right place. Beautiful.

Hi Ian - I was hoping to be on Striding Edge when this light hit the mountain, but this makes a nice consolation prize for me!

All the best,

I'm looking forward to playing with raw files again. Till now with the S3 I have shot all sorts of J-peg files, now I feel I should try the big stuff.
This is super and I am glad that you got a big lens now, I just acquired a 70-200mm Sigms which I triued out in Assynt. More to follow.
All the best Pete

Hi Dougie - I look forward to seeing what you produce with the longer lens, and the RAW work! I've recently started using Capture 1 and I think it's a dream to use in comparison to the Fuji RAW EX convertor. I'm still trialling it yet, but I think I will be buying it.
