Great composition with the rock in the foreground. Like the way the distant scattering of snow brings out the modeling of the hills.

I love this place, the views are fantastic, although I suspect it was rather cold on the day that this was taken.
I am hoping to get more walking done this year, I really have no excuse with inlaws living in the north of cumbria.
Your landscape photographs are amazing and having looked through your website and your portfolio I have something to aspire to when I finally get the boots on.

You've been having a portfolio cull???

Took a look at the site, very nicely laid out - looks very professional.

Like this, never actually been up there - yet - but may wait for a warmer day to take a look.

Lovely comp as usual but the clouds are outstanding. Top filter use

Hi Pete,

It gives me hope when shots as good as this have no ECs or even an HC. I've spent ages looking at this. Its completly supurb - I cant see room for improvement.
Hope you are selling some of these as I bet there are buyers out there!

Thanks very much Chris. I haven't got around to pushing my images for sale to-date, but I'm getting myself organised. I think what I produce is a bit 'niche' and doesn't have universal appeal but I'm sure there will be a market for it somewhere.

I haven't even printed any yet for myself (!). I think this is a personal favourite and I'm going to get this printed BIG for the wall.

As for ECs and HCs, I'm cool with it. While I'd love to get one, I think Pete has an eye for something arty and different so it's probably unlikely I'll get an EC with my current style. While there's always room for development, I'm happy with what I'm producing at the moment and that's the main thing.

All the best,

I think quite a few other people are happy with what you're producing too, Pete. Great texture and detail in this and you've captured the light wonderfully. Top marks.

Exposure is spot on here, perfectly balanced light - Grad used is just about right. Lots of people use too strong grads (in my humble opinion) to create very dramatic (but very 'unnatural') skies. Interesting textures & lovely subtle colours. This is a great shot of one of my favourate spots. Wish I was there !
