Another of the Plan B shots. Smile

The first upload is my personal favourite from the location, but this one might appeal more because the composition is less cluttered and homes in on the subject better. I'd be interested in hearing what your preference is. Smile

Thanks for looking,

Pete

Excellent shot, great movement in the water and the bridge works well.

I prefer this one. It seems more balanced than the other shot. To be honest, I like both!

I like both but agree this one looks more balanced. Beautiful detail in this also, Pete.

I have to agree with the others Pete. Both are good shots but this has a bit more impact than the first.

Thanks everyone.

Yeah Keith, you hit it on the head - that's why I prefer that version.

All the best

Its brilliant, like both but this does have more impact, its the way the water dumps to the front of the shot, it is contained therefor looking more forceful. In the other shot there is space on both sides of the water flow which diffuses that impact somewhat. In this shot you can see and almost feel the action in this water as presented, it is excellent work! Spot on! Click!!!!

Wonderful shot Pete. The large version reveals it in its true glory.
Excellent work with great colours and superb composition.
I have to say that I prefer this version, I feel that it has far more impact.
Best wishes,
George.

As a stand alone image this works very well. In comparison to the previous shot, then that one gets my vote. Not a lot in it, I just prefer the more open composition.

Good experiment Pete (been there, done that!) both v. good but the previous one has the edge for me, we are not seeing enough of the fall in the fg for me.

Thanks very much everyone! I have another portrait version that is wider angle and shows more of the foreground fall, but it still lacks the space of the original composition. I appreciate all your feedback on this - it's interesting to hear different opinions on my work. I thought that the original upload was too busy, and this one is simpler, but I liked the first one and couldn't put my finger on why. :o)

A smashing image Pete. I like the interest from the bridge in the background to the white of the water in the foreground.

Just goes to show how different people have different tastes, Pete. I like them both - they really convey the damp, mossy feel you get in the Lakes but I'm with you on this - I prefer the wider view too.

I find it very difficult to choose between the two - they're both excellent. If pushed, I'd probably say the first (which I seem to have missed when it was first posted).

Unusually (for me) I preffer the landcaped one of this too. I think it may be as simple as that large area of white at the bottom against a white border. Still a damn fine pic mind.

Thanks guys - not a problem with the preferences, the landscape version was my 'gut' preference.
