Hello! I used to love this place, and was absent for a while (largely having kids and not taking so many pics) - would love to get back into this fab learning community now! Thanks in advance for any critique you care to send my way!! Street photography is what I have always loved and am now re-discovering.

Glorious! Love this, and the mono - with that beautiful skin - is great!

My one question is whether the crop is actually too tight - he almost has no space within which to polish? Somehow this could make it look like he has posed mid-polish...?

There's so much depth and wisdom and story in the photo - beautiful!

This is beautiful, and I hope it was used. The mono is streets ahead for me, so much more impact, and especially as we all know the colours involved.

My only question is about the book he's holding. It's rather large, and somehow looks slightly awkward - did you ask him to hold it? Perhaps a more striking portait could have been him simply standing - I'm sure he'd have found something to do with his hands?

Great portrait - all due respect to him and to you!!

  • Spotted!

Lovely! I love his expression and the moment you've captured. I sort of agree with removing the distractions, but actually this is candid/street photography and you could argue it's more important to capture the moment, than capture/manufacture a tidy image?

What's not to like, so well captured... 'Let's make sweet...!' this made me laugh!!

    Thanks for your comments, too!

Phew, love this. Amazing presence to the image - great sharpness and golden tonal range!! I could almost walk into this image...

That's my favourite lens, too! Smile
