Common Blue (f).

Captured on the bank of the River Rhymney on the2nd of August, the first blue I had ever seen, been seeing a few nearly every day since in small numbers.

Lovely Fred,V2 is the better of the 2 for me.The detail in the legs makes this picture stand out.Not the easiest of subjects to photograph as I know from experience, just get everything in focus and ready to shoot and when you check the image,its flown off and you are left with nout

Good to see you getting the female of the species, the female common blues vary so much in colour and markings compared with the males. A real bonus to catch the cinnebar moth caterpillar on the ragwort too

v1, at what looks like the point of take off is superb. The vibrant background also provides beautiful context and contrast.
