Marsh Tit

By phil_j
The first shot in a small series showcasing the various types of birds, especially Tit's, found in my local Country Park, Stanton Fitzwarren.

I have taken this at the permanent feeding station within the Park, using a perch to give the birds something to land on as they wait a chance to feed.

I tried to find an "interesting" looking perch, without going too overboard to distract from the bird itself.

First shot this evening shows a Marsh Tit.

Many thanks for looking.

Phil

Camera tripod mounted
170-500mm lens @500mm
iso200 (light not great but tried to keep iso down as D50 not great for noise reduction at higher iso range)
1/125 sec
Shutter fired by remote control
f7.1

***EDIT....Just noticed a bit of sensor dirt in image, so apologies for that*****

Hi Dave, the tracks have all been taken up now and most of the bridges that crossed the line have now fallen down.

The walk down through the old route of the line is a very pleasant stroll however.

Thanks all for your comments.

Good detail and colours in the image.
Like the lighting, which brings out the colours so well, especially in that fantastic perch.
Maybe a slightly tighter crop, making the bird a little larger in the frame would be an improvement - what do you think?
