Standing strong

By phil_j
Any of you that have visited North Meadow in Cricklade to see the annual bloom of Snakeshead Fritillaries will know how it is usually a blaze of colour, with the meadow a carpet of flowers from Mid April.

This year the bad weather in early spring has decimated the flowers with the field almost bare with just a handfull of late flowers showing through.
This one one that I managed to find today, standing tall alone.

Thanks for looking.

A beautiful and artistic image Phil, a real shame to hear that the fritillaries were decimated by the apalling weather of the past yearSad
