Taken this afternoon (Friday 26th may 2006) during the second npower test between England and Srl Lanka.
The moment where Thilan Samaraweera is beaten by a delivery from Monty Panasar and is stumped by Geraint Jones for 22.
Shot taken from the grandstand hence high position.
First attempt at sports photography so any comments would be welcome.

I'm no expert, but my first thoughts would be:

a) crop out the advertising boards at the top, to concentrate on the action.
b) I think you were fractionally early, as the 'money shot' is probably as Jones removes the bails.

Having said that, you only get one chance. I took my camera to the Nottingham Open tennis last year, and it took several attempts to get the timing right.

Thanks for your comments, yes I was just a little early with that one. Managed a shot of Jones getting bails offs but due to guy next to me jumping up it was a tad blurred!!

Yes cropping the boards would focus on the action but getting the timing right especially when all around you are geting excited - well sometimes its pot luck. However I may need a couple of pics for our next edition which is focussing on test cricket Phil so if you email me -
