Old Church On Skye

By Phil_Nunez
My Uncle and I stopped by this old church on the road to Elgol.
I wanted to get the most out of the clouds so I used a polariser with a view to converting to Black & White in Photoshop.
I'm not fully up to speed with Mono conversion using channels etc but here is my attempt.
I'd love to know what you think
Regards
Phil

that's really weird - the roof looks as though it is actually there.... REally atmospheric image

Lovely. The cloud almost makes it look like the roof is thatched. Great mono conversion. I like it a lot.

Great composition. The fg looks a bit bright, Phil, almost like infrared.

Hi and thank you for the votes. Black & White conversion is a whole new learning curve and Graham , Andrew, Phil well spotted, I chose an infrared setting as a base on which to then do some final tweaks.
The effects can be quite dramatic and in hindsight I agree with your comments on the bright foreground.
Thanks for your time everyone
Kind regards

What a great location, seams slightly unreal when it's shown in black & white this way.

Love it.

This is an excellent composition which works really well in mono. You have judged the tones well.

Phil.
