I like it Phil. In my humble opinion I think it would be better if the skywere to be cropped to just the very bottom edge of the white area of sky, for me it a) still keeps those wonderful suns rays, and b)compositionally it puts the silhouetted figure and the kite on the thirds, and gives a third of the image to the fabulous rays of light .
Hope that makes sense

Hi Chant,
Thanks for dropping by and for your thoughts on this one. I really don't know how its going to sit on EPZ!
I did think about that tighter crop on the lost highlights in the sky ( I couldn't really filter much more for it without risking losing too much detail in the rest of the sky by over darkening it) but its cutting out too much of what it was like on the morning, so I left it in.
I had to make an exposure decision on this one and for me those highlights in the sun had to go but I see your point about the position of the surfer himself.
Thanks again and hope you're well
Regards
Phil

Always have to be ready to capture the moment if it arrives with something like this, well done you for catching it.
A happy coincidence at this glorious spoy on the coast of Northumberland.

Like this but agree it may be a good idea to crop the white cloud.
