If I were to do anything, I'd crop the frame tighter around the fox just to increase the impact. It's a great shot though!

Hello, Phil. Such a beautiful image, with a catchlight in the open eye and alert ears. The fox is so cosily nestled in the grass. The poor thing has a nasty scar on its nose. You ask if this is too central, and I would say Yes, so in my modification I cropped three sides, leaving the top as it is. I deepened the shadows, reduced the highlights and cloned out the light-coloured grass/twigs in the background, over the fox's head. Couldn't stick to just cropping, lol. My second modification has sharpening applied. It's a separate mod in case you disapprove of sharpening. Some do.
