Crime scene following baby death, sad dog soft toy

By philtaylorphoto
The sole tribute soft toy left on the doorstep of a flat crime scene, the night that a man was charged with murder following the death of a 1 year old baby.

Something of a technical challenge, as it's quite small, too low to get a tripod in, and the only light was dim LED street lighting. The ISO had to be so high that fill in flash was impossible, and wouldn't be sensible with an ultra wide.

The saddest thing, apart from the death of a young child is that from Friday night until Sunday night, only another 4 other tributes have been placed. In the same town only a few weeks ago, an 11 month old baby was thrown into the river , and that caused a massive shrine, and outpouring of grief, it's as if nothing has happened, Even media coverage has been minimal outside the local papers.

If commenting, please don't say anything that may predjudice a trial. If you are in the USA, please note, in the UK we are not allowed to make media comments about suspects once charged, it's a very strong legal principle to ensure fair trials.

I don't expect votes on this, as it's not very camera club.

I have a granddaughter not much older and the thought that anyone can hurt, never mind kill, fills me with utter revulsion and anger. I would love to spend 15 minutes alone with anyone who thinks the answer to their inadequacies is violence toward the young and defenceless.

And, the purpose of your 15 muinutes would be to point them towards services who can help people who are struggling in a situation?

This is the second baby death involving a murder charge in my patch in 2 months. The first one, I was just professional, and got on with the job in hand. This one left me feeling sick to the pit of my stomach.

Something like that, Phil.
What are the odds that this poor mite was on some sort of radar operated by one of the services who "help" people?
No doubt, once again, "lessons will be learned!"

I'm assuming that you are very familiar with Radcliffe, and its economic and social situation, especially in the Cross Lane area.

If you cover certain stories, you can see a pattern developing. Suicides are on the increase. It's crazy when a downtime exercise is to do stock shots of motorway bridges.

It's not all bad up in the 'Northern Powerhouse':; the morning when I had been on the last baby murder, was followed by coverage of a fantastic local authority nursery that had reopened on a troubled estate after an arson attack.

I've driven through it a few times, Phil are you suggesting that where a person lives has a bearing on whether they become `a child murderer or not?

A hard scene to photograph, and not jsut technically. Please view the vote as an inadequate attempt at emotional support.
