Fireproof Euro flag fails to burn due to EU regulations

By philtaylorphoto
31 January 3020. Brexit Night in Victoria Square Bolton. The Town Hall was lit up in red, white and blue for the occasion. Amongst the crowd ranging from those who had been drinking in Wetherspoons, those proclaiming their support for Tommy Robinson, shouters of loyalist slogans and local councillors, flag wavers, families and one gentlemon from a fairground, who had hoped to sell flags, and was disappointed that the council hadn't put something on, was a small group who attempted to set fire to a flag, which unfortunately was fireproofed due to EU regulations, and refused to burn.Pictures by Phil Taylor *** Local Caption *** SWNS Phil Taylor

EU regulations have the last laugh, I like that!
But such acts do remind me of Heine. "Where they burn books, they will also ultimately burn people."

Excellent, Phil - very funny indeed, and entirely suitable for Silly Sunday.

And as Moira says... The desire to denigrate, the idea that such a gesture will be seen as in any way worthy of admiration: inexplicable, childish - in a pulling wings off flies way. The spirit of the Bullingdon Club is not confined to the wealthy. And it leads down a dirty avenue.

Not all is bad in EUrope, indeed: and there's a lot that's right, Fabio, and we British have thrown it away.

I hope that we can stay closer than these lads want to - especially this lovely Ephotozine community!

I also hope that the lads see the joke - but I'm really not certain they will...
