Great capture, his expression says it all. A sad day for those people who have worked so hard to try and make things better for the lives of the less fortunate.

Yes, the face says it all, but he can gain comfort in the fact that the boss was not to blame, according to the boss that is. Well spotted.

Says so much in a single image. Sadly, a lot of decent, honourable individuals lost out. As did the public, ultimately.

Have to agree here. Strange times we’re living in.

Strange times indeed. There seemed to be two Labour parties. The one that I knew from my youth, and another one that had also been around for a while that could be found at any demo, student union debate. The older ones will have worn Coal Not Dole, and no to coal and fracking badges in their lifetime.

Would this picture get more votes if I had a robin or a cat in the background?

I worn Coal not Dole and I've campaigned and marched and demonstrated including being in Whitehall when Maggie's mount police charged miners. There should be one Labour party but unfortunately many of those who supported the Blair's watered down Thatcherism have never accepted that Corbyn was democratically elected, twice.

Let's not forget that JC's intellectually-sound, politically naieve approach to leaving hte EU may have been a factor, too.

But we need to build a future, not blame each other for the result, however we voted, and whatever we feel about the EU. The biggest politcal need is to become a single nation again, hard as that will be.

Phil - yes, I'm sure a robin, misseltoe and Santa would help with votes. In all senses...

Indeed, something is broken with society and people. Young parents are struggling, the NHS is malfunctioning. Bearing in mind that I only work part time in press photography, since September I have covered 3 suspected murders involving babies, a suicidal person found drowned in a canal, a homeless man who bled to death in a shopping precinct, a probable drug addict found dead in a field of mud and dog turds, an RTA casualty waiting three hours for an ambulance, a home made bomb in a village. Today it was a bit relaxed after the day in bed from the election, just a murder and a double stabbing.

I suppose if you feel motivated, contribute to a food bank, and as photographers, work on projects that highlight the refugee, the impressed and the poor to fight their corner.

Thank you, Phil. Food for thought...

Not the 'impressed' the oppressed!

A nicer day today, a Live Nativity on an open farm.

Follow up on the murder, and the scene of a car crash from icy roads last night.
