AMAZING! What a great shot. I was gob-smacked when I clicked on the thumbnail adn saw this. I said out loud, 'Oh dash, what a jolly good photo' (expletives removed!!!)

What amazing timing, all the result of planning I'm sure.
As for the sky it makes such a superb backdrop to the picture. Isn't it great when all the elements come together and you have a camera ready for action.

I can't work out if hes 'kneeling' on the fence or in mid jump. Maybe it would be better if you explained ...or maybe it's just me.
Good capture either way, much more interesting than the usual stag shots.

Thanks for the kind comments. The photo was taken with 100-400 zoom at 400mm. I had noticed where the deer were crossing the fence so parked my vehicle at the appropriate spot and used it as a hide. This stag was just taking off when I captured him.
