Maine Dock

By photodesigner
It looked like the weight of the large rusty anchor was to much for the old dock. After searching for the best composition I photographed the dock exactly as I found it.

I like this, as it arouses warm feelings about sea and sea life!

I like your composition and all the fishing paraphernalia, especially the rusty anchor. I would consider cropping the top to remove the white sky, and desaturating the bright blue pot a bit as it pulls the eye upwards.
Pamela.
Pamela, You improve so many of my photos. Thank you for your input!
When I first saw the fish bait barrel I thought it was new until I saw the barnacles on it.
I didn't want to crop the sky. I didn't like it white either. With Picasa, I was able to put a blue tint in the sky. This made the barrel a bit darker.Oh well. At least the hook can't be missed, Ha?

Well composed and interesting content and texture but I find there is a bit too much content to provide focus. I think the anchor provides plenty to focus on and I am a bit distracted by the sky and trees and the blue drum. I think I would try some much tighter crops to 'focus' the view. Good luck. A
Arthur, I appreciate your comments on my photos
