Good candid! It would be interesting to see a colour version of this. Alternatively you could try toning it as in the mod I've uploaded.

Thanks CB, really like the toning you did, much better.
I wasn't confidant about submitting the original shot in colour as the photo of the bridal couple was in b+w but will put it up later and see what you think.
Cheers

Great shot, like the composition of the boy against the Wedding image. I like it in B&W, and the range of tones through it.
Well done on your first upload.

Hello, Nicola, and welcome to EPZ. Great title. This is an excellent candid with good tones for a mono. I couldn't help seeing the humerous side of it. You have composed it really well, with the picture above the boy, and also with the boy just about to munch on a potato stick. I felt that the picture top right distracted from the interaction of boy and wedding photo so, in my modification, I removed it, then darkened the wedding photo to make its tones more balanced with those of the boy.

That's wonderful Pamela, love what you did with it. you're right, the top right was distracting. I don't yet know how to do the changes you've made but will learn how ... soon!
Thank you so much, and for the welcome.

hiya
this is a wonderful candid & as such there is no need to go changing it/getting rid of distracting elements in my opinion

love this just as it is and look forward to seeing more of your work!

Hi Jo
Thanks for you comments, how encouraging!
I put up a shot this morning, not the greatest but it was fun taking it all the same and I like the idea. I'm yet to learn more basics about Photoshop and my camera is basic but that will all change within the months ahead. So much stimulation and inspiration on this great site.
Your portfolio is incredible, truly art. really enjoy looking at it every so often.
Nicola
Hi Nolola,
Many thanks for your lovely comments. Thought you were ignoring me there for a while.

Ha, would never ignore your work. I just float in and out of this place, finding there's never enough time to look at everyones. It could so be a full-time job with all that's on offer here, inspiration and learning. A great place to be.
Nicola
